Here is the map showing the different food plots. I have numbers on the plots so you will know which ones I'm referring to.
Hunter Ed has a camera set up at plot #6. I checked the cameras last evening and these pictures were on it.
Now Ed has to keep his cool and let this deer go for at least another year.
That's me and two of my grandchildern disking the plot.
Last evening I gave Janey her first ride on the jitney since her operation. Drove slowly but she still made me nervous since she kept getting up on the hood.
This morning on the ride around the farm I noticed how good the partridge pea looked.
The pods look full. Quail love the small seeds that drop out when the pods open.
The other day the ducks were hiding in the grass. I almost ran over them. I was able to get my camera out and get this picture of some of them before they got out too far in the water.
I looked down after I took the picture and saw this guy still hiding.
nice map! who eats the food? what is number 6??
ReplyDeleteI been eating a little. But it is for the wildlife: provides cover and insects & seeds for the birds to eat. The food plots all have field corn and soy beans in them except #5&6. #6 is what they call a Delmarva Pond (a low spot in the woods, it floods in winter and drys up in the summer). Most winters there is a foot of water. I'm trying to encourage more plant life to provide food for the ducks by thinning out some of the trees. #5 is a small clearing where the old Stubbs house remains are (Ed has his feeder and camera there.)_
ReplyDeletehey Bob, you also have to worry about the quiet one in the bunch. Not just Ed. kidding. doing a great job. The pic in the air. is the narrow part behind sylvesters farm De. Or Md.? i'll look for answer soon.
