FIRST HUNT: THE DEER WIN

Got in the deer stand in the corner behind brother Brian's house at 6:30 PM. I could hear quail in the cover on the edge but didn't see any of them. Then I heard some calling in the field - it sounded like a nice size group.
Behind me I started hearing a stomping noise. I turned around to see a nice size doe. It was only 10 yards away, looking at me. When I went for my camera she moved to cover. I stood up facing the woods with cross bow in hand for awhile.
She stayed in the cover and snorted at me - I knew she was aware of me. I sat back down and watched the field till dark and saw nothing else.
