STAND ALMOST FINISHED

The new stand will be ready to move to the field this weekend.IMG_0255My bother Mark is going to bring the back hoe over to set it all up. The sunflowers are starting to bloom.
IMG_0266They are looking real good, the heads are growing nice and will be full of seeds.IMG_0268Only 10% have bloomed, by next week the field should be all flowers. Last evening, at the wetlands,
there must have been fifty or more wood ducks coming in just after sundown.

BUILDING A NEW STAND

Started to build a deer stand to put out along the back lane.I see lots of does out there that I can put in the freezer. IMG_0225The rain has been good for my food plots, the sunflowers are really taking off.IMG_0236They're really nice and clean - that's what the doves like .IMG_0235They should bloom this coming week.I got pictures of another buck behind Dad's house. PICT0385Looks like 12 points and still growing. The rain got my flowers growing in the yard too.IMG_0229I hear quail calling around the house all the time but haven't seen any little ones.
I did see 5 young turkeys back by the clover field.

HOT

It's been hot and dry. The deer seem to be staying in the woods till sundown.
I put a camera at my Dad's to check those deer out.PICT0041This guy should be easy to identify.PICT0040His buddy doesn't look too bad.I went flying this week and took these pictures of the farm.IMG_0250IMG_0253Mark helped me put the tile in the ditch. When I get the dirt over it I'll be able to drive the tractor across.IMG_0303The sun flowers in the food plot by the ditch bloomed this week.IMG_0188They didn't get very tall but did make some seeds.IMG_0191I still haven't seen any baby quail but do see a quail or two every couple of days.
