BACK FROM CRUISE

Bob left BOBWORLD and got on the boat in Baltimore with Judy.Went to Bermuda and back.IMG_0394We had lots of fun, food and sight seeing.IMG_0587We had dinner with this group most every evening.IMG_0573We are at Horse Shoe Bay Beach..IMG_0581This lamb was as good as deer. When I got home I mowed some paths through the habitat. IMG_0649I went flying and checked them out from the air. While mowing, I jumped up 2 fawns, 4 quail and one rabbit.
The grandchildren came over and I shot a dove for them. IMG_0631Max said don't kill animals but I told him I needed to eat. Xander and Nathan wanted to hold it.IMG_0633I got 6 more Saturday to make enough for a meal. IMG_0724Checked the trail cams and finally got a deer at Milton's feeder. PICT1149Got this guy at the wetlands. PICT0101This young red tail hawk let me get this picture.IMG_0730We had a little rain Sunday so I got a few small food plots planted. IMG_0736The combines motor had a little problem while picking the corn. IMG_0625Looked like #1 connecting rod might have broken and went through the block.
A new engine was installed right in the field.IMG_0598

HUNTING SEASON STARTS

Dove season starts in MD today. Bow season for deer starts in DE today.
I will try and get some doves today. The dogs will be happy to see the 20 gauge out and birds falling. I see these two young bucks a lot. If they stay on my farm they should be safe. They're only going to be a year and a half this season. PICT0085They're the only bucks that have been out in the day time. They have to get through this deer season and wise up. We went to Summerfest in Denton and met Bob Ehrlich, he's running to be Gov. again. IMG_0266
He's holding Abby and wearing my hat. Friday evening George and Cindy came over to check out my new deer stand and the wildlife. We took a nice jitney ride. There were a lot of wood ducks on the wetlands. George came up with calling my farm "Bob's World".
I like it and think I'll put up a sign "WELCOME TO BOB'S WORLD".IMG_0332Janey always rides the hood. Christian got his first jitney ride through BOB'S WORLD and loved it. IMG_0333Christian is from PA and comes to Ridgely Airport to hang glide. I cooked wood duck, deer burgers and wild rice. Christian brought the ice cream. Cindy and Judy enjoy having a meal cooked for them. IMG_0340Dakota and George had a beer.IMG_0350Janey went for the ice cream.IMG_0338Saturday we got up early and went to the RESTORING HONOR RALLY IN DC. Steve and Sue went with us. 106_1483IMG_0354Note: DC is not part of BOB'S WORLD.
Just got back from lunch and got my first dove of the year. I now have something for dinner - it will take a lot of rice to make a meal. The dogs were very happy.IMG_0378Janey made the retrieve.
IMG_0385I gave it a throw so Dakota could retrieve it too.IMG_0388The corn is getting close to being ready - that should bring in a lot more doves.IMG_0382

HAPPY DOGS

We put the stairs on the stand last evening so the dogs are happy - they can watch for game. IMG_0243Dogs and I sat in it this morning - Janey thought she saw something moving. IMG_0253There was a heavy fog this morning, she was hoping a fox might come by.IMG_0257 One of our neighbor's fawns got hit. I saw it along the road and checked it out - it was a doe.IMG_0242
This guy showed back up behind my dads again.PICT0256He hasn't gotten any better looking. PICT0479This doe took a nice picture.

NEW STAND

I got my dad and brother to help move the stand to the field.IMG_0174Dad used the backhoe to sit it on the wagon and to take it out to the field. IMG_0175Dad then sat it on the platform. IMG_0188I sat in the stand on Sunday evening - a doe with her fawn come out first and then this 6 point buck. IMG_0224Next I need stairs so the dogs can get up there and then I need windows before winter comes.IMG_0191Here is a movie of the placement: chief engineer and eguiptment operator.

REAL NICE RAIN

We had a good rain Thursday morning: 1.4". I mowed all the clover early in the week so it was real nice for that. The beans and some of the corn are still making seeds -the rain will help them also.IMG_0158 This is Jap Millet its starting to look goodIMG_0146 I hear quail all the time but haven't seen any small ones. The dogs have a bird pointed here.IMG_0431 The ducks are counting up at the wetlands - around 75 coming in most days.I see alot more fawns out in the fields and food plots. I have problems with two of my four deer cams. Only got a few good pictures. PICT0157I got an earlier picture of this guy .PICT0199I put a cam at Milton's feeder this week - I haven't checked it yet. With all the corn around I haven't seen as many deer on my ride around the farm. The sunflowers are dying now and I'm hoping the doves will be showing up in time for opening day - Sept 1.The little birds are starting to pick out the seeds.IMG_0142 Went to see the kids last weekend. Wanted to have a talk with my buddy OBAMA IMG_0138but could not get in the White House.IMG_0007
Went out to eat with Mike and Becki. We had a big beer at nice place. IMG_0034
On Sunday we went to Lori and Dan's. Here I am with the new grandson, Zackery.IMG_0045 We then went to watch Molly in a Beauty Pageant. IMG_0111She was a big winner.IMG_0104After After the pageant we went to the Red Robin and celebrated Max's fifth birthday.IMG_0121
